Do we own the data we’ve entered into iMaint Online?
Yes. It’s your data; we’re simply caretakers
and managers of your valuable information. If you need a copy
of your organization’s database, we can provide it to
you.
Will our data be secure?
Yes. We know that the data you’ll enter into iMaint
Online is highly valuable, and we take numerous precautions
to ensure its security. We’ve teamed with
a leading national data center to provide a dependable, secure
and high-performance environment for your data. For most organizations,
data will be more secure with us than it would be if it were
maintained on their computers. We maintain multiple servers
to increase system reliability, and we regularly backup
your data, manage your
database and perform system maintenance.

and reliability.)
We have an IT department. Why would we want to use an
online solution?
Organizations can also purchase iMaint to run on their own
computers, yet many are attracted to the unique advantages
of iMaint Online:
- Reduced IT costs. We provide the hardware, software and
expertise.
- No need to burden your IT personnel. Most IT departments
already bear a more-than-full workload.
- Reduced implementation
time. Get started in weeks, not months.
- No capital expenses—only low monthly fees.
- Easy to expand and grow. Our system grows automatically
as your needs grow, and you don’t need to worry about
the capacity of your system or servers.
- Free and automatic updates and upgrades.
Can non-maintenance
people submit work requests?
Yes. The
Web Work Requests
add-on allows anyone you want to submit new work
requests or check the status of existing requests. All
they need is a computer with Internet access and the
Internet Explorer web browser. The work request data
goes directly into iMaint Online for processing. The
person who made the request can also choose to receive
automatic e-mail updates on the status of their request.
You can have a virtually unlimited number of people
submitting requests in this manner with no additional
user license fees! (Included with Professional
version; optional add-on for Intermediate version.)
What is an Asset?
An asset is simply any valuable property for which
you need to track costs, estimated lifetime, repairs,
maintenance and/or parts inventory. Typical assets can
include facilities (buildings), equipment, machinery,
vehicles, physical plants, outdoor facilities, roads and
more. You choose which items will be called assets and
which assets will be managed and tracked within iMaint
Online.
Is iMaint Online a
CMMS
or EAM system?
What do those acronyms mean?
iMaint Online is sometimes called an Enterprise Asset
Management (EAM) and a Computerized Maintenance
Management (CMMS) system. The EAM term focuses mainly on
the higher-level management of assets, tracking their
true costs and determining projected lifetimes. The CMMS
term focuses mainly on nuts-and-bolts management of
maintenance on those assets, including preventive
maintenance programs, accurate tracking of all costs,
personnel scheduling, inventory management and Work
Order management. Both terms apply to iMaint Online,
depending on which version you license and how you use
the system at your organization.
